About

I’m Sarah, and I’m making soap in the shed.

I’d love to bring consuming back to local. If I never entered a supermarket again, I’d be happy.

The creators of Shop Ethical  (http://www.ethical.org.au)  state that we vote with every dollar we spend, and the more I thought about that, the more it made sense.

I shop at the local markets, refill containers of washing liquids (clothes and dishes) at a local shop, buy toilet paper online (http://au.whogivesacrap.org) and spend a small fortune on lovely soap.

For years, I have collected books on herbs and oils and aromatherapy. Now, the time has come. I have cleared out a corner of the shed, and my aim is to use it to create different soaps for different skins, with the delightful scents and properties of essential oils. Eventually, I’d love to be able to make soaps to individual requests – either for skin type or scent or aromatherapy effects.

I also get side-tracked by falling fruit, garden produce and random acts of cooking. And poetry. And script writing…

And with my shadow, Pete the Staffy, supervising!

    • Thanks 😊,
He is nearly 13 years old, and has been really unwell lately – he had a stroke last year and recently he had epilepsy / seizures! He is amazing though – still carrying on and trying to do all his old things. The vets call him the Miracle, and he is!!
Your dogs look like gorgeous company too 😊. It is so hard when they get sick!
      Cheers,
      Sarah
